JAFF and TAF

JAFF a TAF

The Joint Assessment Family Framework or JAFF and Team Around the Family (TAF) are part of the Welsh Government’s Families First programme run by local authorities, offering families help advice and support when things are going wrong, regardless of where they live or how much they earn.

The type of support offered can differ by local authority; however, JAFF and TAF are two of the elements of the programme that must be delivered by all local authorities.

JAFF is used to assess the needs of the whole family. It encourages families to think about what is going well, what they would like to change, and what they need to help them achieve success. A support package is then agreed to meet those needs.

TAF – If a family needs support from several different agencies then a key worker will be assigned to co-ordinate that support to ensure that all of the agencies work together effectively to deliver the help the family need.

Mae Fframwaith Asesu'r Teulu ar y Cyd neu JAFF a'r Tîm o Amgylch y Teulu (TAF) yn rhan o raglen Teuluoedd yn Gyntaf Llywodraeth Cymru a gaiff ei rhedeg gan awdurdodau lleol, gan gynnig help, cyngor a chymorth i deuluoedd pan fydd pethau'n mynd o chwith, ni waeth ble maent yn byw na faint maent yn ei ennill.

Gall y math o gymorth a gynigir amrywio yn ôl awdurdod lleol; fodd bynnag, mae JAFF a TAF yn ddwy elfen o'r rhaglen y mae'n rhaid i bob awdurdod lleol eu darparu.

Defnyddir JAFF i asesu anghenion y teulu cyfan. Mae'n annog teuluoedd i feddwl beth sy'n mynd yn dda, beth y byddent yn hoffi ei newid, a beth y mae angen help arnynt ar ei gyfer er mwyn llwyddo. Yna, cytunir ar becyn cymorth er mwyn diwallu'r anghenion hynny.

TAF - Os bydd angen cymorth ar deulu o sawl asiantaeth wahanol, yna caiff gweithiwr allweddol ei benodi i gydlynu'r cymorth er mwyn sicrhau bod yr holl asiantaethau yn cydweithio'n effeithiol i ddarparu'r help sydd ei angen ar y teulu.

Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015

Deddf Llesiant Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol (Cymru) 2015

This Act is about improving the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of Wales.

The Act will make the public bodies listed in the Act, including Local Authorities, Local Health Boards, Public Health Wales NHS Trust and Velindre NHS Trust ensure that when making decisions they take into account the impact they could have on individuals living their lives in Wales in the future.

It will expect them to:

  • work together better
  • involve individuals reflecting the diversity of our communities
  • look to the long term as well as focusing on now
  • take action to try and stop problems getting worse - or even stop them happening in the first place.
