Active participation in relation to development and well-being

Cyfranogiad gweithredol mewn perthynas â datblygiad a llesiant

Active participation in relation to development and well-being

Active participation has two key principles underpinning care: the rights of the individual and the independence or autonomy of the individual. The individual is encouraged and shown ways in which they can help themselves develop, be healthier or recover from illness. Active participation recognises that everyone has the right to participate in everyday life activities and relationships.

Every individual should be supported and encouraged to become an active participant in their care rather than simply a passive recipient of care.

Any health and social care provider should seek to encourage the active participation of every individual to take ownership of their personal development and well-being wherever possible. However, there are occasions where there are barriers to the active participation process, such as lack of resources. Health and social care providers should always work to minimise any barriers as much as possible.

There are many ways in which an individual can be supported to be an active partner in their personal development and well-being. Health and social care providers should utilise multiple actions to promote the active participation of every individual.

Active participation can occur at all stages of life. Children and young individuals will develop greater social skills and increased self-esteem if they are involved in everyday activities with other individuals in society. Very young children will need their parents or carers to actively participate in playgroups, clubs, trips to the supermarket etc. Once children reach school age then schools and clubs can help them to actively participate in their care.

Mae dwy o brif egwyddorion cyfranogiad gweithredol yn sail i wasanaethau gofal: hawliau’r unigolyn ac annibyniaeth neu ymreolaeth yr unigolyn. Mae’r unigolyn yn cael ei annog ac yn cael ei addysgu am ffyrdd y gallai ei helpu ei hun i ddatblygu, i fod yn iachach neu i wella o salwch. Mae cyfranogiad gweithredol yn cydnabod bod gan bawb yr hawl i gymryd rhan mewn gweithgareddau a pherthnasoedd yn eu bywyd pob dydd.

Dylai bob unigolyn gael ei gefnogi a'i annog i fod yn gyfranogwr gweithredol yn eu gofal yn hytrach na dim ond unigolyn sy'n derbyn gofal yn oddefol.

Dylai unrhyw ddarparwr iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol geisio annog pob unigolyn i fod yn gyfranogwr gweithredol er mwyn cymryd perchenogaeth o'u datblygiad a'u llesiant personol lle bo hynny'n bosibl. Fodd bynnag, mae adegau lle mae rhwystrau i'r broses cyfranogiad gweithredol, fel diffyg adnoddau. Dylai darparwyr iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol bob amser weithio i leihau unrhyw rwystrau lle bo hynny'n bosibl.

Mae nifer o ffyrdd y gall unigolyn gael ei gefnogi i fod yn bartner gweithredol yn eu datblygiad a'u llesiant eu hunain. Dylai darparwyr iechyd a gofal cymdeithasol ddefnyddio llawer o gamau gweithredu i hyrwyddo cyfranogiad gweithredol pob unigolyn.

Gall cyfranogiad gweithredol ddigwydd ym mhob cam bywyd. Bydd plant ac unigolion ifanc yn datblygu sgiliau cymdeithasol gwell a mwy o hunan-barch os ydyn nhw'n rhan o weithgareddau bob dydd gydag unigolion eraill yn y gymdeithas. Bydd angen eu rhieni neu warcheidwaid ar blant ifanc iawn er mwyn cyfranogi yn weithredol mewn grwpiau chwarae, clybiau neu dripiau i'r archfarchnad ac ati. Unwaith bydd plant yn ddigon hen i fynd i'r ysgol yna gall ysgolion a chlybiau eu helpu i gyfranogi'n weithredol yn eu gofal.

Choose which actions would encourage or discourage active participation.

Dewiswch pa gamau gweithredu fyddai'n annog neu'n annog rhywun i beidio â chyfranogi'n weithredol.
